Why does the index controller's thumbstick break so often?
Unfortunately, this is a mechanical wear problem with the index controllers.
This happens very often with games such as Pavlov, because in some games the controller is assigned in such a way that you have to push the thumbstick in and hold it down to run, but also push the stick in the running direction. And this is exactly where the problem is, here a high mechanical stress arises, which destroys the joint of the thumbstick after a short time.
Furthermore, the thumbsticks can also break if used incorrectly.
The thumbsticks may only be controlled with the tip of the thumb, please do not control the thumbsticks with the ball of the thumb. If you still control the thumbstick with the ball of your thumb, you exert significantly more pressure due to the short lever travel and thus destroy the thumbstick after a while.
Therefore drift arises.
Note: If the invoice says "DS defect", then the thumb sensor is defective. But it is not relevant for playing and has nothing to do with the thumbstick itself. Some controllers are delivered here with a defective thumb sensor. "DS defect" is only the indication that this is defective. The thumb sensor only notices whether the thumb is on the thumbstick or not and shows this optically in some games.
